Buttafly was founded in
June 2002 by Jennifer with more than $8.57 in
funding, mostly in the form of free beer from
friends and change found in couch cushions. The
site is updated approximately once a month.
Buttafly has been mentioned in USA Today,
The National Review Online, Front Page
Magazine, The Washington Times, and
allegedly on the men's bathroom wall at Deep Eddy
Cabaret in Austin. The site gets 70,000 - 100,000
unique visitors (1 million+ hits) each month.
Buttafly is based in Austin,
TX where Jennifer and other Buttafly staff
members are currently spearheading an investigation
into the accuracy of advertised drink specials
at local establishments.
Editorial Advisor
Olga Gardner Galvin
Olga Gardner Galvin is a founder and editor
in chief of Emperor’s
New Clothes Press, a new independent
publishing house that specializes in sharp,
entertaining, politically incorrect fiction
driven by engaging characters and aimed at the
emerging independent-thinker counterculture.
Brought up in the old Soviet Union in the 60s
and 70s, Olga considers it her personal responsibility
to ensure that the USA is not turned into the
USSR any time soon—and her editorial responsibility
to ensure that words continue to mean what they
say. (E.g., shrill declarations that, despite
evidence to the contrary, Communism is still
a good thing are not “progressive.”)
